    Summary:

BioCeuticals Ultra Muscleze supports energy production and neuromuscular health by combining a high dose of magnesium with important co-factors maximising effective absorbtion.

Magnesium helps form and maintain healthy bones, and also required for healthy metabolism. It is an essential mineral for proper muscle function and assists in relieving tight, sore and cramped muscles. The recommended 5g serve provides 280 mg of elemental magnesium per serve. Also includes the amino acids carnitine, glutamine and taurine with malic acid, B vitamins and other supportive nutrients.

BioCeuticals Ultra Muscleze containts 'Ultra Mag', a patented mineral delivery system designed to enhance absorption and intestinal tolerance of magnesium in a superior, glycinated chelate form, which is also well tolerated in high doses.

The ideal supplement for optimising mitochondrial energy. This chelated magnesium does not dissociate in the gastrointestinal tract but is absorbed as a complex.

    Directions:

Add 1 metric teaspoon (approx. 5 g) to 100-200 mL of water. Stir or shake. Consume once daily or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

    Precautions:

Single doses of magnesium (above 1000 mg) may cause diarrhoea. Use with caution in renal impairment. A typical 5g serve contains 280 mg of magnesium.

    Education:

    UltraMag®
UltraMag® is a specialised blend of amino acid chelates that has been formulated to enhance magnesium absorption and intestinal tolerance. When chelated to an amino acid, magnesium is absorbed as an amino acid rather than as a mineral ion. UltraMag® magnesium amino acid chelates are readily absorbed through the intestinal lining via the dipeptide transport pathway.[1] This mechanism of absorption is faster, more efficient and is not dependent upon stomach acidity. Even in individuals with known malabsorption, absorption of UltraMag® has been shown to be substantially greater than that of inorganic magnesium salts (23.5% vs 11.8%) and is better tolerated.[1]

How Magnesium's Cofactors Function in the Body
    B vitamins

Several of the B group vitamins are essential to the respiratory chain involved in ATP synthesis.[2] A range of nutrients, including numerous B vitamins, may assist in minimising the systemic effects of stress.[3]

    Taurine
Along with magnesium, taurine is involved in the modulation of cellular calcium levels; supplementation has been used successfully in deficient patients in the management of muscle cramps.[4,5]

    Glutamine
Glutamine exerts an anabolic effect on skeletal muscle by stimulating the synthesis of protein and inhibiting its degradation, thereby promoting muscle growth and repair.[6]

    Carnitine
Carnitine is a cofactor necessary for the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondrial matrix where they undergo oxidation for cellular energy production.[7] Mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation is the primary fuel source in the heart and skeletal muscle.

    Customer questions / expert answers

    Q. Thanks for your reply. I forgot to mention that i have had crazy sugar cravings since commencing breastfeeding 9 weeks ago - I'm talking happily eating a block of chocolate! I am currently taking Tresos Natal 1 x day (have been doing so for at least the last 6 months) and have just been recommended to take the Ultra Muscleze powder in addition to the Supergreens Powder. Can you tell me if if the above two are going to help with the sugar cravings please or should I be looking at something else? Thank you.
    A.

The above two will be excellent for sugar cravings. Magnesium is the key nutrient to stabilise sugar cravings. Start slow, as it moves the bowels as well, and will transmit to breast milk. Is great nutrition for your baby. Eventually, the Super Green will replace the Tresos Natal - so discontinue once the sugar cravings are stabilised, and just take Muscleze and Super Greens.

    Q. I have sleep problems. I can fall asleep easily but wake up after only 2-3 hrs and then cannot go back to sleep again. Happens most nights for last 2-3 years. Suspect I have magnesium deficiency. Started on Ultra Muscleze Night powder on 2/12/2013 - 7.5mg twice daily. Please help.
    A.

Definitely keep up the Ultra Muscleze Night magnesium powder to help with relaxing muscles and nervous system. If the insomnia is nervous-driven consider Anxioton. Q. I was speaking to (93yr old) mum about Ultra Muscleze & she would like to try it for night cramps in her legs. Or perhaps you could recommend something else?
    A.

Ultra Muscleze will be a good support for leg cramps for your Mum.  Suggest recommending 1/2 teaspoon at midday meal for the first week, and 1/2 midday and dinner for the second week.  Please note, high magnesium doses can cause bowel changes, so build the dose up slowly. Dose can be adjusted depending on symptoms, and she may not need to take it every day.

    Q. Can you recommend the best magnesium to use for people who are training regularly. I am looking for a powdered one and was steering towards BioCeuticals. I am currently selling a tablet form magnesium through my studio however I know powder is best.
    A.

Bioceuticals Ultra Muscleze optimises cellular energy production and has a chelated form of magnesium and nutritional cofactors to maximise absorption. It is an excellent product for those training regularly.

    Q. I have a feeling I'm getting more and more deficient in some sort of nutrient. I'm a vegetarian, so I know B Vitamins are a concern with me. I've been trying to eat lots of beans and lentils, but I still feel weak and less energetic than I used to. Since I've moved to Australia in November 2011, I've been getting every cold, cough, sneeze, flu that passes my way. Not only is it incredibly annoying, but this has NEVER happened to me before.

I eat a lot of fruit to keep my immune system strong, and dark leafy vegetables to get iron and all that other good stuff in there. I don't know why I feel like I'm getting weaker and weaker. Plus, I'm craving SWEETS after dinner like CRAZY. I think this is because my dinners didn't provide enough of SOMETHING to satisfy me. Would this be a B Vitamin deficiency, and if so, what do I do?

If it's possible, I'd like to use food and adjustments in my diet first before I take any pills, but I know that as a vegetarian, there is only so much broccoli I can handle in one day! So I guess I'm saying I would be open to taking a pill of some sort, but only if it is Vegetarian friendly, and as few preservatives and additives as possible (I have a firm belief that preservatives cause cancer).

What would you recommend? I really appreciate your help and time!
    A.

Having reviewed your symptoms, it looks like you have a Vitamin B and iron deficiency. You can consider adding Spirulina powder - at least 1 tablespoon per day (you need to increase it to 3 tablespoons per day to improve energy).  You can take in a 1/2 water and juice drink or add to a juice smoothie.  The other option is to take a powdered multi like Ultra Muscleze with an Iron supplement.

    Q. Hi, I am looking for a good magnesium supplement + weight loss (visceral fat) and liver detox and perhaps Rhodiola. I am taking Pristiq. Any suggestions?
    A.

Try Bioceuticals Ultra Musceleze - magnesium powder 2 teaspoons per day. For liver detox use Metagenics Thermo Phase powder - 1 teaspoon in the morning. You can take this with the Musceleze. Rhodiola is more for stress and nervous system support, if you think you need it.
